You don’t see Lake Junaluska this dry very often, even if it’s only for draining and cleaning.

Guess it’s a good time to ‘clean’ the Lake, unless you are the one who has to sit on the equipment in 20 degree weather!

Panacea added a great big rack (you can see it in the distance in the photo) full of their fresh, delicious coffee beans. Great place to drink coffee, enjoy free wifi, and their food is delicious too.

Met a good friend, Brent Ivey, at Panacea Coffee House yesterday afternoon for coffee while I was in Waynesville. These photos were taken from the back of Panacea, where they have a nice deck to sit and enjoy the creek and your coffee when the weather is a ‘bit’ warmer. The snow is gone!

Panacea is another great place in Waynesville NC to enjoy coffee and food with free wifi.

We had our monthly Haywood County Board of Realtors luncheon at the new Laurel Ridge Clubhouse at Laurel Ridge Country Club in Waynesville NC yesterday. Beautiful facilities, delicious food, and a very friendly and attentive staff. One couldn’t help but feel that the real estate market was booming! Well, not exactly…

Stopped for coffee yesterday at Blue Ridge Osondu Books & Cafe to see how the ‘new,’ expanded/combined store looked, but was a week or two early. The expansion is evident, but not quite ready; however, it looks like it is going to be an even better book store with free wifi and great coffee.

Their cafe menu even includes coffee almost any way you want it (I like an extra shot with whipped), smoothies, and they feature local bakery items that are tempting and almost impossible to resist!

Magazines for everyone’s taste line one entire wall. They even had a magazine I was unfamiliar with but HAD to buy: The Jan/Feb 2010 edition of COWGIRL Magazine.

As much as I love technology, a vehicle without an engine sure looks like the ticket for me. Just hook up the horse and go.

I didn’t take the best picture of this black carriage, but of the others I took, it’s the lesser of the evils. The vintage tractor photo I posted the other day was taken at this same farm property location in Waynesville NC, as were the unique shed photo, and the chicken photos.

The first two photos were taken from the Ingles Grocery Store parking lot in Waynesville NC. Ingles is very busy these days, no matter what time you brave the cold and head for the candy aisle!

Another beautiful Maggie Valley creek, with snow this time.

The very popular Tube World was busy Wednesday afternoon!

This view is looking up from the Tube World area toward the very top of Ghost Town in the Sky. Ghost Town is closed for winter.

Pioneer Village (one of their cabins pictured below) is located in the heart of Maggie Valley on a beautiful creek right off of Soco Road (close to Tube World).

The cabin below is another Pioneer Village cabin, right on the creek.
