These Paint horses live on Hemphill Road in Jonathan Creek (Waynesville NC), and brighten up the winter landscape. I see them frequently as I tend to visit Boyd Mountain Log Cabins and Christmas Tree Farm quite often for my photography fix.

A Good Horse in Waynesville NC Never Comes in A Bad Color!

Visiting the farm full of miniature horses yesterday in Waynesville reminded me that there is much more to real estate than selling it! Land decorated with bales of hay, tractors, fencing, mini-hot walkers, manure piles, fat and sassy horses running around, and of course a Cowboy or eight, is how I picture heaven.

Located on Mauney Cove Road, maybe 60 seconds from Granny’s Chicken Palace, the miniature horse farm is growing … and so is the herd count. New babies will be dropping soon. CUTE OVERLOAD! As soon as the brochure for the farm is ready (they are adding carriage rides, etc.), I’ll post a copy here on my blog.

The geese were grazing at a home on Lake Junaluska yesterday as the last of Monday’s beautiful snow was melting, and the colts at Boyd Mountain were happy to have some fresh hay to enjoy after a roll in the dirt. Bet the furry colts are hoping the warm weather will help them slip their winter coats.

Working on my new horse website, Horsealicious, led to a search for some of my old horse, and horse show, photos from the 70’s and 80’s. This picture is one of my favorites. It was great showing and raising Quarter horses, and if I won the lottery, I’d be in cutting horses.

Haywood County has beautiful land and views for horse people, and mild seasons for the horses. I toured Riding High Ranch recently, and it is a beautiful equestrian property with a covered arena, beautiful barn, 37 acres, and beautiful views, to name a few of its great features. ‘Hay’ Cowboy Chris Cox! We Have Horses and Equestrians in Maggie Valley!

We had a light snowfall yesterday in Maggie Valley, which didn’t seem to concern this nice bay with a snip and a heavy winter coat. Maggie Valley and all of Haywood County afford equestrians mild seasons, an equestrian lifestyle, and great trail riding and pasture land (but not nearly enough Cowboys [yet] to my way of thinking)! Cowboy Up!

Anyone want to help me sign Chris Cox up for a Haywood/Buncombe County Horsemanship Clinic? He’s pretty booked for 2009 but there’s always 2010, and I know who to call! Until then I’ll be counting the days until I see him in Waco, TX and/or Clemson, SC. I’ll be writing about that (with pictures and videos) on Horsealicious.com.
