Lake Junaluska in Haywood County NC ~ Frozen!

Lake Junaluska was quite a beautiful sight early this morning as the sun was rising … revealing a frozen white layer that doesn’t present itself to this extent on Lake Junaluska very frequently. I lurked around the Lake for about an hour. Love the color of the first photos before the sun rose over the mountains.

Setzer Cove Road Barns, Maggie Valley NC~12/24/09.

Maggie Valley’s Setzer Cove Road provides places to stay, residences, and great photo opportunities! Located very close to Joey’s Pancake House, Tube World, Ghost Town in the Sky, and the road to the Cataloochee Ski Area (Fie Top Road), the snow on the ground on Setzer Cove Road yesterday, Christmas Eve, made for some beautiful winter photos.

I Saw Santa, Reindeer, Christmas Trees Last Night at Boyd Mountain Christmas Tree Farm in Waynesville.

Boyd Mountain Christmas Tree Farm is where many people in Western North Carolina go to get their Christmas trees every year. Yesterday was ‘opening day’ for Boyd’s Christmas trees and wreaths season.

Click here for their hours and dates of operation, directions and information.
