Will there be a purple home in Ricky Beauchamp’s new Gathering Rock development in Waynesville, NC?

Ricky Beauchamp’s new Gathering Rock mountainside development, in compliance with the Town of Waynesville’s Board of Adjustment, and Ricky Beauchamp’s standards, will adhere to strict rules governing building materials and home colors for the clustered village homes as well as the estate homes. Purple will probably not be included!

Naturally, not everyone is happy about the possibility/eventuality of this new 254-acre residential development, but Gathering Rock certainly appears to be gathering no moss…

“The town’s board of adjustment, after a public hearing, gave the development their endorsement, though there are several hurdles yet to face. The project has come with the strong endorsement of town leaders and has been endorsed by the community appearance commission as well.”

It is sounding like an aesthetically pleasing development to me… and I’ll continue ‘gathering’ info!

Gathering Rock gated mountain residential development in Waynesville, NC will have a Community website!

Developer Ricky Beauchamp, according to a press release, selected Seedspark, a website development company based in Charlotte, NC, to create a consumer-friendly interactive site for his new residential community development, Gathering Rock, which is in the initial planning/development phase in Waynesville, NC. The first site is being created for Mr. Beauchamp’s development company, Torchlight Properties, to initiate the branding of the developer in anticipation of the next phase of the new gated mountain residential real estate development. The actual Gathering Rock community website will follow, with a June 2008 launch.

“Buying a home site or a home is an active, exciting process. Today’s consumers nearly always visit the community’s website before visiting the actual property. “The Internet has changed the way people shop for everything from books to new homes,” states Brian Smerdell of Seedspark, a website development company based in Charlotte, North Carolina. “It’s our job to create a helpful and fun shopping experience.”

Developer Ricky Beauchamp believes that you must be committed to excellent communication with your residents while they’re still prospects. “The buying, building and moving processes can take a long time. We want our future residents to be able to immerse themselves in their new community and lifestyle immediately,” says Beauchamp.”

Sounds like Mr. Beauchamp is tech savvy!

Want to see architectural drawings for Waynesville, NC’s new Gathering Rock development?

Now that the Town of Waynesville’s Board of Adjustment has issued conditional use permits to Torchlight Properties for the new gated mountain development called Gathering Rock, work on the project can begin. Gathering Rock was formerly known as Waynesville Overlook. According to a recent article in the Citizen-Times:

“The development had to meet a number of criteria to get a conditional use permit for building above 120,900 feet, including: providing a geotechnical survey demonstrating that construction is safe, restricting vegetation removal, using building materials and colors that blend with the landscape, and keeping home sites spaced at a distance of one lot per four acres. Construction is contingent on each part of the project continuing to meet town requirements.

Previously, the hillside development ordinance forbid building above 120,900 feet, but these guidelines were added to allow projects like Gathering Rock at higher elevations as long as they follow the town’s conditions, Waynesville Mayor-elect Gavin Brown said.”

Here are more of the drawings that were released depicting the planned development on Eaglenest Mountain in Waynesville, NC:
