The Best, Most Exciting 2 Minutes in Sports!

Kentucky Derby Logo

Me with a future Kentucky Derby candidate.Kentucky Derby Day is here… one of my favorite days of the year, and the beginning of the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing. Never do I miss watching all three races; albeit, via television.Ever since going to Ruidoso Downs for live racing many years ago, and then moving back to Hawaii, television has been my only/preferred choice for watching what to me are the most spectacular events of the year… The Triple Crown races!

Would I buy a big new hat and fancy outfit to go watch the Kentucky Derby live and drink Mint Juleps at Churchill Downs? You bet! But today I will have to settle for watching the race on television and making my own Mint Juleps… with the Churchill Downs Mint Julep recipe.

Caricature, Susie Blackmon by Jerry EmersonPyro and Big Brown seem to be favorites at the moment.

Watch a Big Brown video.

Are you looking for a great Caricature Artist for your website or business?

Caricature by Jerry Emerson, Susie Blackmon, Bucking the Real Estate TrendAn integral part of the real estate business, and any other business for that matter, is marketing our services and products. My real estate website, BuckingtheRealEstateTrend, is a very important, if not the most important aspect of my business as well as my marketing plan. While working recently on the cosmetic changes to my home page (the bucking horse photo above was just added, for instance), I read about using a caricature of myself to enhance the aspect of ’setting myself apart.’

The idea of a caricature appealed to me immediately, so I did a good bit of research and ultimately found Emerson Art. I felt like I found just the ‘person’ I needed to create my caricature after perusing Emerson Art’s website, and it turns out my gut feeling was correct. Jerry Emerson of Emerson Art responded to my inquiry immediately, informed me of what he needed to come up with my caricature, and within a day I had the first draft of the artwork. Then we (Jerry) went to work on the clothing… and not only did he draw a copy of my favorite “Carving Cowboy’ carved turquoise necklace, he even fixed me up with a pair of leopard high heels to go with my starched black jeans!

buckingtherealestatetrend.com, susie blackmonHere’s more about Jerry, from his website:

” Jerry Emerson has been a caricaturist for over 30 years. His professional style guarantees high quality work that is both funny and artistically worthy. He works from photos you submit by email and his prices are very reasonable. Use his digital caricatures to create business cards, greeting cards, or birthday, anniversary and wedding presents. He draws caricatures for both private and corporate use, for print media and the web.

Caricatures can even be drawn to improve faces - fewer wrinkles, less fat, smaller ears- yet still look like the person. Jerry will do his best to satisfy you with the results.”

Jerry also does web design and templates, among many other things, and I am still working with him on other graphics for my website and marketing purposes. If you need a great artist, I highly recommend Jerry and Emerson Art, for talent, results and customer service.
