Bucking The Real Estate Trend-Waynesville and Maggie Valley Real Estate

BIG Snow in Maggie Valley NC December 18-19, 2009.

Our weather forecast for Maggie Valley on Friday morning (12/18) said Winter Storm Warning with a wintry mix of ice and snow. Ha ha! Joke was on us. We had LOTS OF BEAUTIFUL SNOW! Photos below were taken early Saturday morning (12/19), except for the feral kitty photos, which were taken late Sunday afternoon.

Many lost all power, including me (I have all electric heat and no fireplace). My power came back after 27 hours (late Saturday afternoon). Television and internet came back late Sunday evening.

Being fairly new to living in the mountains with occasionally heavy snow, I wasn’t alarmed about not having power, but it soon became apparent that a little camper stove is a necessity so hot coffee could be brewed when the power is out. Hopefully I can get out today to do some shopping!

My little tiny cabin is clean and I even have 2010 files made and ready to go ~ thanks to 2 full days with no internet.

The kitten in the first photo below is the runt of the feral kitty litter, and the one that follows me around like a dog, rolling in the snow, is the friendliest and stays underfoot to get rubbed.
