Tune In to the Bluegrass Cafe in Maggie Valley.

The Bluegrass Cafe in Maggie Valley is located on the right-hand side of Soco Road if you are headed toward Ghost Town in the Sky and/or Cherokee. The physical address is 2748 Soco Road, Maggie Valley, NC 28751  (828-926-2975)

It’s a good idea to call ahead as their hours vary. I’ve heard they serve breakfast anytime, and have a good fried balogna and cheese sandwich.

True Confession: I Went to The Chocolate Bear in Downtown Waynesville Again.

The Chocolate Bear, Purveyors of Fine Chocolate, is conveniently located right in Downtown Waynesville on Main Street. After succumbing to the urge to visit The Chocolate Bear the other day, some of their wonderful chocolate is now conveniently located ‘behind me!’ Their store is exquisite, not to mention the sights and smells once you are inside, perusing the cases and counters covered with chocolate ‘everything,’ including chocolate covered sunflower seeds!

By the way, the owners just added Gelato to the store … fresh, all natural ingredients, in 14 different flavors. Stop by to cool off with a Gelato before you pick out your chocolates. You will be glad you did.

Pasquale’s Pizzeria and Tapas Bar in Waynesville, North Carolina.

Pasquale’s Pizzeria and Tapas Bar was busy last night, and the food was delicious. Located at 1863 S Main Street, Waynesville, NC 28786, there is plenty of parking and plenty of great food.

Pasquale’s Lasagne (with meat) is what I chose for my dinner (pictured below), and it was delicious, as was the 15-bean soup which I ordered in place of a salad. Ms. Bonnie had a fresh Vegetable Pizza (pictured below) which she said was quite delicious, and a salad that was made fresh right at our table, some of which ended up on my plate. Bonnie is a gourmet cook so when she says her dinner was delicious, she knows what she is talking about! Delicious fresh bread was also served when we arrived with olive dipping oil on the side.

Click here for a Google map for directions to Pasquale’s.

Pasquale’s is a ‘must’ if you are visiting, and a ‘repeat often’ if you live here!
