Are You Facing and/or Fighting Foreclosure?
I might have missed the video below had I not read Ken Brand’s great blog, Brand Candid. Watch it and see what you think!

Up the Creek in Maggie Valley.

Log homes on a creek in Maggie Valley are considered ‘prime property.’ The creek pictured above runs parallel with Soco Road in Maggie Valley; it is no surprise there are homes, restaurants and businesses built along the creek.
Making an effort to find more information about creeks in Maggie Valley was absolutely impossible because of a ridiculous number of real estate websites that show up when you search for anything related to creeks in Maggie Valley.
Boy am I cranked up for another blog now…

Hope in the Real Estate Market … Lower Prices.
While compiling and reviewing residential real estate sales in Haywood County during the period of October 1 through February 23 for the past few years, I prepared a comparison of the ‘homes sold’ by price ranges.
Sales (Closing) Numbers
There were 157 closings for the 2008/09 period (down approximately 55% from 2006/07); 246 closings for the 2007/08 period, and 353 closings for the 2006/07 period. Lower priced homes, from $10,000 through $199,999, showed the only increase in the percentage ratios during 2008/09 compared to the previous years, which is no surprise.
Crystal Balls
Watch the news and watch the numbers. There are many ways to interpret the numbers, and a multitude of experts willing to opine about when the ‘bottom’ will be established. We are in uncharted waters in many respects, but there is no denying that there are great opportunities out there now for financing as well as buying a home priced for today’s market. Sellers, PRICING is key if you need/want to sell your home; please read: U.S. home prices tumble at record pace.

Best Way to Get a Cowboy to Do Something… Tell Him He’s Too Old!

‘Vintage’ photo of Ray from Dallas and Susie
See, I have been hooked on Cowboys for a long time! Ray from the hit TV show “Dallas” flew in for a big promotion for a feed and western wear store Mr. Blackmon and I owned and operated in Sarasota, FL many moons ago when we were married. I was in charge of the tack and western wear, and loved flying to Dallas twice a year to the Dallas Market to order all the Lucchese, Tony Lama and Justin boots, as well as the beautiful leather coats and outfits that were so popular during the years of the “urban Cowboy and the rhinestone Cowgirl.” Don’t think I did not dream of running off to Southfork Ranch with Ray (i.e., Steve Kanaly)!
There’s snow outside this morning here in the mountains of North Carolina.
