Photos of the Day - Petals of a Different Color at Boyd Mountain, NC.

Another drive out to Boyd Mountain late yesterday afternoon left my camera filled with more beautiful flower photos.  Soon fall will change the landscape and colors of the beautiful property owned by the Boyd family, and my passion for bright colors will be abated by the gold, green and orange leaves painting the mountains, and the ‘ripening’ Christmas trees that fill the rolling terrain of Boyd Mountain Log Cabins and Christmas Tree Farm.  I will always find an excuse to drive out there!

The pink petals of this flower, beautifully lit by the late afternoon light, remind me of the ‘Doll Cakes’ that my mother made for me and my sisters many years ago in Hawaii.  Can’t you just picture a beautiful Barbie Doll squished down the middle of this flower?  Hmmm, guess you had to be there!
