Photo of the Day - Frilly Garden Goodies on Sheepback Mountain.

Maggie Valley’s Sheepback Mountain is decorated with beautiful log and mountain homes with ‘to die for’ views. There are mountain laurels lining the winding road up and around Sheepback Mountain, and many of the properties are landscaped with flower gardens and water gardens, including the home of my friends, Patty and Ellis Morris. These beautiful blooms were among the flowery photographs I took while wandering around their property at the top of Sheepback Mountain. Thanks Patty and Ellis for the feast for my eyes and my camera.

Fractional Share Ownership vs. Timeshare in Haywood County, NC.

Time Share HomeWe enjoy a healthy vacation/second home market here in Haywood County because of the mountains, change of seasons, location, log homes, creeks, lakes and nature in abundance. Outright ownership of vacation and second homes is an option, as are Fractional Shares and Timeshares.

Pat Kitano of Transparent Real Estate just posted an excellent bullet-point list, as explained by Sarah Scafford of International Listings, of the differences between Fractional Share Ownership and Timeshares here.

Photo of the Day - Dappled Ducks in Dappled Light.

This afternoon I noticed these beautiful ducks wandering through my yard in Maggie Valley, on their way to the little creek that is rushing with a little bit of swimming water right now. I cannot help but wonder if this the same female that came through my yard recently, but with a handsome male instead of ducklings?

Waynesville’s Main Street filled for the International Festival, FOLKMOOT USA.

The festivities for North Carolina’s Official International Festival, FOLKMOOT USA, on Main Street in beautiful Downtown Waynesville, got off to a wet start yesterday, but the day ended up dry with a twist of fried turkey leg. My friend Bonnie Williams and I wandered around and enjoyed the vendors, Folkmoot participants in their international garb, fresh hot Kettlecorn, and Holy Smoke Barbecue.
