Now that the conditional use permits were issued by the Waynesville’s Board of Adjustment at Tuesday night’s Town of Waynesville meeting, Torchlight Properties, the
developer of the new Gathering Rock development on the eastern edge of Eaglenest Mountain, can begin work. Say goodbye to Waynesville Overlook; hello to Gathering Rock!
A petition for annexation of the property to ensure water and sewer service is next on the agenda.
Waynesville Mayor-elect Gavin Brown, who was also ’sworn in’ Tuesday evening, commented about the issuance of the conditional use permits:
“To me, it was very beneficial in the sense that it allows property to be used, but it’s in a way that has to be aesthetically pleasing and physically sound.”
