Final approval for Gathering Rock, formerly named Waynesville Overlook, is going before the Town of Waynesville tonight (December 11). The Eaglenest Mountain project would consist of approximately 150 homes on the eastern edge of the Mountain pictured below, located in Haywood County. Photo credit: Josh Boatwright.
A lodge, observation pavilion, parks, trails and wooded campsites are also proposed. According to the Citizen-Times, a conditional use permit for building above 120,900 feet will require that the developers meet a number of criteria.
